For 55–64 Early Retirees
Retirees between age 55 and 64 may choose the Early Retiree Dental Plus Plan or the Early Retiree Prescription Plan.
Eligibility
Age 55 with 10 Years of Service
If you retire at age 55 with at least 10 years of credited service and/or vesting service, you are eligible for:
The Early Retiree Dental Plus Plan, which includes dental and vision benefits, a hospital indemnity plan and spousal coverage;
OR
The Early Retiree Prescription Plan, which includes prescription drug coverage, vision and hearing benefits and spousal coverage.
If you retire between ages 60 and 64, you will receive the same retiree health benefits that members retiring with a Normal Pension Benefit receive when you reach age 65 and are Medicare-eligible.

*Members born before July 1, 1959, or commencing benefit payments prior to January 1, 2019, are eligible for retiree health benefits at age 62 with 20 years of service.
**Eligible members retiring at age 60–64 are eligible for the “65+” benefits when they turn 65 and enroll in Medicare. Eligible members retiring at age 55–59 are only eligible for the Prescription Plan when they turn 65 and enroll in Medicare.
